Christmas in Connellsville. What a great day. The kids slept in--no more middle-of-the-night sneak peeks at the gifts; I was downstairs drinking coffee with Mom and Dad when they finally came down. (Andrew slept the latest.) They opened their stockings first, loved everything of course, then opened their gifts. Some of their gifts this year:
- Funko Pops of Powerless characters
- Games: No Thanks and Century Spice Road
- running leggings
- puzzles
- sticker therapy packs
- hamster Warmies
- books
- OPI polishes & NYX lip glosses
- weighted bagels
- acrylic blocks
- purple hair dye (Lucia)
- maroon Uggs mini boots (Lucia)
- botanical Lego set (Greta)
- Theragun (Greta)
- jeans from Pacsun (Lucia)
- Taylor Swift Midnights cardigan (Greta)
- inchworms with Santa hats (plushies)
- and more!
Andrew and I exchanged gifts as well, and the kids gave us the gifts they'd chosen for us. A wonderful selection. (We'll do our exchange with Mom, Dad, and Molly next week during Post-Christmas.) Mom made pancakes for breakfast, and then we had the day free. We played Century Spice Road, which was really fun. The kids became obsessed with their sticker therapy sets, as well as the acrylic cubes. They also did what kids usually do which is pull out the weirdest, oldest non-Christmas-gifts to play with: this time, an old guitar from the attic.
Mom prepared a full Christmas dinner: wedding soup, pesto, roast chicken (Andrew made this), mashed potatoes, pureed squash, stuffing, corn, cranberry jello. Dessert was chocolate pie and apple pie. Delicious.
In the evening, we had a lovely visit with the Gasbarros. We stopped on the way home to see a large display of vintage blow-mold decorations in South Connellsville. Back home, we watched Frosty the Snowman and called it a day. It was a perfect Christmas.
