Summer: NH, Tues. 7/13

ANOTHER cool, rainy day. The gloomy weather made us all a little sluggish today. We read a lot of Harry Potter, kids did math review, took a couple of walks with Farrah, played Rummikub (which kind of made our brains melt in our sluggish state), read. I uploaded some pictures to Snapfish for a 2019 photo book (I do one every year, and I'm two years behind). I made pesto for dinner. Andrew went into town and made the exciting discovery of a bottle of Blanton's at the liquor store, plus a bottle of a maple bourbon we both like. He's been making a drink for us with the maple bourbon, lemon, simple syrup, and fresh mint he picks from the field.

That was the day. Ready for some sun.

Last night we had another wild encounter with country life. We were about to turn the lights off to go to bed when we were suddenly attacked by a cloud of horrible gnats gathering at the ceiling and hopping around the walls. Too many to ignore. So Andrew got the bottle of Lysol and began spraying them to their deaths, which unfortunately meant their carcasses rained down onto the bed. Ick. There were also a couple of very large moths.
