The Ghost in the Attic

Andrew continues to isolate in the attic. At least he has what is basically an apartment--a bedroom, a bathroom, and a room he's set up as an office (yes, he was feeling well enough to work for a bit today). And in the evening he went onto the porch to watch a sports game on his iPad and get some fresh air while the girls and I watched TV in the basement. We're masking when we're inside, except for our bedrooms and the basement, which is a huge pain and most likely unnecessary but feels like a small sacrifice if there's any chance it's helping.

Both girls had tennis lessons this morning, and then I took L&G to Target just to get out of the house. I bought them each a Series 4 Mini Brands. Then I started all the laundry because--ha ha ha ha!--we're leaving for the beach on Saturday. Knock on wood. Some of us are, anyway. We're still figuring out how or whether it's all going to work. Many cars, many rooms, many chairs set up at a large distance outside. What's crazy to me, as we try to figure all this out, is that there is no single definitive source that says how many days to isolate, how many days you're contagious, etc. It's all just a random mix of timelines, depending on what you read. I just read a handful of articles and my takeaway is that you're basically contagious forever--maybe! Unless you stop being contagious after five days! Good luck to all!

Farrah does not like Andrew living in the attic. She's confused. She's been sleeping in his office, or her crate.

What We're Reading

What are we even reading. I've lost track. Lucia has been tearing through books faster than I can keep up and Greta is both devouring new books and rereading everything on our bookshelves. They're reading. That's all I've got for today.

Andrew - not sure, and not going to the attic to check, maybe a Colson Whitehead but he might have finished that

Margo - Where the Crawdads Sing (just finished it, read it because of the renewed interest in the author's involvement in a murder. Deeply disliked the book.)

Read aloud - none right now.
