Quarantine: Sat. 3/28

Everyone slept in, even Farrah, who refused to come out of her crate even at 10am. L&G immediately went downstairs to work on their LOL house, which now includes a library, a trampoline, a climbing wall, a slide, and a zipline. (Real talk: the basement might never recover from the aftermath of breaking apart large pieces of styrofoam and hot glue guns that don't always make it onto a piece of scrap paper to rest.) I made a Dutch baby for breakfast, one of the NYT's suggested quarantine foods. Delish.

Sadly, Lucia had to do a bunch of schoolwork today, because although we've been homeschooling for hours every day, we hadn't gotten around to doing any of the assignments for science, art, or music. Science I get. We need to do some science. But art and music? Our whole home life is art and music. I'm just not sure how much leeway there is in actually turning in assignments. Regardless, Lucia did a couple of experiments and drew a picture. We'll work on the music things tomorrow and then she'll be all caught up on the work for the first two weeks of homeschool.

We spent the afternoon cleaning up the attic stairwell, putting away the last of the Christmas decorations (which had been lingering in the attic stairwell), watching a Suzuki book recital via Zoom, working on a puzzle (from a rummage sale, with FOUR MISSING PIECES, argh), and--hmm. Somehow a whole day passed, yet I'm not quite sure how. I read a little. I made mac and cheese for dinner. L&G watched the movie Zombies 2. Andrew went for a run. Farrah chewed up a pen. It was rainy so we didn't get outside.

Another day. Each one just like the other. Laundry's in. We'll watch Tiger King once the kids are in bed. Maybe we'll watch the news, but the idea of this NYC/NJ quarantine is freaking me out.
