Summer: Fri. 7/3 (NH)

It was a cool, overcast day today and we all just laid low. We went to Walmart this morning to get some provisions, which wasn't enjoyable at all--there were a lot of people there, not everyone was wearing a mask, and really we just need to not go anywhere. We are perfectly fine just staying home.

After that, we just hung around the house. The kids wanted to swim in the pond, but they got chilly after a few minutes and spent the rest of the day playing with their Legos, working on a puzzle, reading, and playing made-up songs on the piano.

We're all dying to watch Hamilton and--also released today--the new Babysitters Club series on Netflix. But we don't have a TV here so we'll have those to look forward to when we get home.

Tomorrow is the 4th, of course, and the kids are--inexplicably--excited, even though we'll be staying home for the entire day. But we did buy a bunch of candy at Walmart, to make up for missing the parade; and we got some glow sticks. We haven't put the rope up in the pond yet, so we'll do that; and we have a new air compressor so we can blow up all the floats we have. We'll have fun. It won't be the same, but it's just another part of this crazy year.
